Most of our instructors began their martial arts training as children or teenagers; and we passionately believe that all children should be offered the opportunity to train from a young age. The benefits of martial arts training for children and young people include:

  • Improved fitness
  • Improved confidence
  • Improving respect, self-discipline, perseverance, and behaviour
  • Team work and conflict resolution skills
  • Setting and achieving goals and objectives
  • Having fun and making new friends!

We believe that martial arts are best taught in a fun but disciplined environment. Our students are therefore expected to follow certain rules and behave respectfully – but also have plenty of opportunities to play and let off steam, depending on their age and level.

We recognise that children come to us with different abilities, needs and levels of confidence, and that all children learn at different speeds, which may change over time. The classes are therefore structured to get the best out of all students, whatever their ability and confidence levels.

Safety is absolutely paramount at all times, both on and off the mat. Children are closely supervised at all times during training, taught to fall safely and challenged and encouraged to achieve their full potential. Equally, we maintain robust safeguarding policies, including the appropriate vetting and training of all our instructors.

Should you have children who are having difficulties at school please feel free to contact us as we have a wide range of experience working to improve the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

If you wish to discuss your own child’s specific needs or concerns, either before or after they start training, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
